2021 Herbalista Service Report

Looking back over this difficult year, we are reminded of what we can achieve when we come together, learn together and serve each other.

The Herb Bus and Herb Cart are popped with two large extra tents set up in the rain. There is clinic going on with consultations happening in each of the extra tents.

We provided 11 free Herb Cart Clinics, serving our friends on the street.

Three crew members are working a table that has a large tea urn and an HerbCare Station set up across it. There is a large sandwich board sign that says Herbalista Free Clinic.

We served tonics at 11 free pop-up herbcare stations.

Several people stand across the top of a garden, framed against the sky.

We established an herbal learning garden to share skills and build community.

Rows of brown paper lunch bags are lined up. Several have a sheet of paper stapled to the front which shows the menu of the HerbCare Packages.

We made and distributed 478 HerbCare Packs including Cold Care, Aftervaxx, Winter Care, Street Care and Aller-Ease Packs.

A row of elderberry fire cider bottles.

Our Fire Cider Brigade made and distributed over 17 gallons of Fire Cider.

Several folding tables are arranged across a lawn and people are gathered around making batches of fire cider.

We offered 33 community classes with 4 Solidarity Medicine Making Workshops.

A half dozen people are out on a walk in a park, looking at the plant guide who is kneeling on the lawn talking about a plant.

…12 monthly Plant Rambles with special guest rambler guides.

Three people are standing with a large bouquet of Tulsi Basil in between them.

… 11 Grow a Row workshop and volunteer days.

Anna stands at the copper still that is set up with lots of bottles and tools around. Behind her is a beautiful wall that has stacks of wood.

… and 6 herbal hydrosol distillation workshops in support of Grow a Row and the Dublin Herb Bike.

Two certificates from the National Institute of Medical Herbalists are framed against pink roses. One is made out to the Dublin Herb Bike and the other is made out to Herbalista Herbal Clinic.

Along with the Dublin Herb Bike, we were proud to be recognized with an “Herbalism in the Community” award by the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (UK).

We want to thank all of our volunteers for joining us on this journey.  And to our sustaining members and donors (there are over 400 of you!) we are so very grateful for your support.

Herbally yours,
Lorna, Marie-Lies, Heather, Sam and the rest of the Herbalista Crew
