2022 Herbalista Service Report
With all of the difficulties we face in the world today, community herbalism is needed now more than ever.
Here are some highlights from 2022 that we would like to share with you.
TThank you all for your support.
The Herbalista Free School was launched in February of 2022, offering FREE online herbal classes for learners of all levels.
We offered 29 classes on a variety of subjects to over 3K registrants.
Grow a Row continued to promote herbal agriculture both online and in the dirt!
We installed new garden signage and published a new edition of our local Herbal ATL Materia Medica (accessible by QR code) helping folks on their herbal journey.
Fire Cideer Brigade
Things got spicy!
The Fire Cider Brigade continued to support the health of our friends on the street by making and distributing over 700 bottles of Fire Cider.
We held our first Hotlanta FCB Community Workshop, putting good energy into every batch.
Lorna continued to work with the Dublin Herb Bike Collective in Ireland, offering free herbal care and comfort to communities in need, particularly the unhoused and refugees.
In addition to their 12 monthly free clinics, the Dublin Herb Bike also offered 4 Plant Rambles and 5 Solidarity Medicine Making Workshops.
And in spring of 2022, after 7 years of service with Herbalista, the Herb Cart moved to its new home at the Fleur + Forage Free Clinic.
We provided ongoing monthly financial support and mentorship, supporting them through this transition year.
We offered a final weekend workshop Herb Cart Training to help get the new crew ready for action!
Viva la Herb Cart. May you continue the vital mission of building community through herbalism.
We look forward to watching all community herb projects grow and thrive in the coming year and we thank you for your support.
An extra special shout out to our Garden Stewards Sam, Heather and Emily who built the Learning Garden from the ground up.
Thanks to Tori for keeping the Fire Cider Brigade rolling.
Gratitude to the sustaining members, volunteers and donors who make it all possible.
And much love to the plants and people who bring their own special medicine to the mix.
Herbally yours,
Herbalista Lorna
