Plant Ramble

Grand Canal Plant Ramble

Date: TBA
Meet at Charlemont Luas Station

Sliding Scale 5 – 20 euros.  Space is limited to 6 participants. To register, please email us at DublinHerbBike@gmail.com

Meet your Green Neighbors!

Learn to identify the wild plants growing all around us and how we can use many of them as food and medicine. We’ll discover different edible and medicinal plants found along the Tolka River, discussing basic botany, harvesting considerations, and medicine making techniques.

This Ramble is a HerbShare Dublin Workshop and is in support of the Dublin Herb Bike. We strive for a model of healthcare that is based on solidarity and not charity. Our web of programming aims to build skills, share knowledge and costs, all while providing vibrant healthcare in our community.

Registration is based on a sliding scale donation to keep these workshops as open as possible to all members of the community. Donations collected on the day. All money goes to purchase herbs and other needed items or services to keep the Herb Bike rolling! Thank you for your support and for helping us build community through herbalism!

* Please note, these rambles are weather-dependent.

Summer Hydrosol Distillation

New Date: 31st July 2021, 2 – 5 PM

Elmhurst Cottage Farm, Glasnevin

Sliding Scale 20 – 50 euros.  Space is limited to 15 participants.
To register, please email us at DublinHerbBike@gmail.com

Join us as we fire up our Copper Alquitar Still in  celebration of the summer!  We will be distilling a lovely, aromatic hydrosol for use in the free clinic and as a fundraiser for the Dublin Herb Bike!  Hydrosols are the water portion of a non-alcoholic distillation, they contain a minute amount of essential oil among other plant constituents.  Everyone will take a 20mL spray bottle of our finished hydrosol. We hope you can join us!

This event is being hosted at the Elmhurst Farm in Glasnevin, a magical urban family farm growing organic fruits, vegetables and herbs. Our host, Rossa, will talk about the farm and together we will harvest the herbs, pack the still, and then distill a beautiful hydrosol! Tea will be served.

To register, please email us at DublinHerbBike@gmail.com.  Sliding Scale 20 – 50 euros.  Space is limited to 15 participants.

We run these workshops according to a Sliding Scale Payment System, which means you pay according to what you can afford.  We are strongly committed to keeping these workshops accessible while also committed to supporting the work of the Dublin Herb Bike.
