The second time we ran an Herb Cart at the Open Door, they set us up in the clinic room. And while it was a pretty awesome look (all those herbs mixed in with the conventional tools for treatment) it felt a bit removed from the community and we found that we were able to work with a lot more folks when we were out in the yard with them.

The Cart is basically our mobile dispensary. We try to keep everything arranged in easy to find fashion. We label bottles on their tops, we create charts and packing lists on the lids, and have moveable trays and hanging baskets that allows us to adjust as needed.

When you are at the Cart compounding your remedies, it is a chance to also confer with your fellow practitioners. The Cart is a great way to find support as an herbalist. So often this field can feel isolating so it is wonderful to have the opportunity to practice alongside others and be able to get their support.

Setting up for the Health Fair. We use 1-2 overhead tents during the health fair, to shield us and the patients from the sun in the summer and from the rain in the winter.

Decompression Session after a Cart Clinic. Every Cart Clinic has a Lead Cart Coordinator. They are responsible for holding the space safe for the practitioners and patients, taking the lists, reviewing cases, assisting with dispensing, and at the end - leading the decompression session!
